イギリス国王ヘンリ８世と、その国王の６人の女王達の話は
イギリス国史の中でもすごく有名な物語。
息子が生まれなかったりとかの理由で処刑されたり、
病死したりしたため、国王時代６人の妃を持ったヘンリ８世。
その２人目の妃、Anneとその妹Maryの物語。
この時代、貴族の娘達の結婚は、暮らしのレベルを上げていく戦略手段だった。
それを利用していこうとしたAnne (Natalie Portman)と、
それを望ますにいながらもふりまわされるMary (Scarlett Johanson).

を中心に、この時代のイギリス王室の雰囲気、
結婚観、女性観、姉妹関係などを映した映画。
なんていったって衣装と雰囲気が重厚で綺麗。
そしてナタリーポートマンの演技力がすごい。
特に悲しみや怒りを表現している様子はゾッとする。
